Networked solution for the early detection of smoke and flames

Video-based fire detection protects the waste paper collection centers of a major printing and media service provider.

Mohn Media Mohndruck GmbH is part of the Bertelsmann Printing Group and one of Europe's leading printing and media service providers. Around 2,000 employees at the Gütersloh site implement customized solutions for customers from a range of different industries.

The company has extremely high site security requirements. For several system generations, Bosch has therefore provided the printing specialist with state-of-the-art security technology and services.

In order to respond quickly to fire incidents in the sensitive area of waste paper collection centers, the experts at Bosch planned and implemented a state-of-the-art solution based on AVIOTEC, the first video-based fire detection system certified by VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH. Intelligent algorithms integrated directly into the camera ensure that smoke and flames are detected at an early stage

Solution

  • Implementation of a networked AVIOTEC system for the early detection of fire hazards and enhanced fire protection in waste paper collection centers
  • In the event of a dangerous situation, the alarm is signaled directly to the permanently staffed emergency call center of the plant fire department.
  • Integration of information from the new fire protection solution into the Bosch Video Management System
  • Integration of all existing fire protection, intrusion and video systems at the site into the Bosch Building Integration System
